2D Redstone Mastery: Logic Gates, Trapped Chests & Automated Farms

Redstone engineering in Paper Minecraft is surprisingly deep and faithful to vanilla Minecraft mechanics. Because the game plays out on a 2D plane, wiring complex circuits is often cleaner and easier to visualize than in 3D.

Automated Sugarcane & Wheat Harvesters

By placing pistons behind mature crops linked to an observer block or daylight sensor, you can construct an automatic harvesting system. When the sugarcane grows to maximum height, the observer fires a pulse, triggering pistons to shear the harvest into collection hoppers.

Mob Drop Grinders

Dig a dark spawning room 24 blocks above your base. Water streams push spawned skeletons and zombies down a vertical shaft, softening them with fall damage so you can finish them with a single strike for easy experience points and loot.
